Main Ingredients:
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 6 slices of beef crispy
- 1 cup shredded Colby-Jack cheese
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms optional
For the Honey Mustard Sauce:
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Optional Garnishes:
- Fresh parsley chopped
- Green onions chopped
Prepare the Chicken:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and a pinch of paprika.
Heat a skillet over medium heat and sear the chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Once seared, set the chicken aside.
Make the Honey Mustard Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, honey, mayonnaise, and lemon juice until smooth.
Taste and adjust the sweetness or tanginess based on your preference.
Assemble the Dish:
Place the seared chicken breasts in a baking dish.
Spread a generous layer of the honey mustard sauce over each chicken breast.
Add sliced mushrooms (if using) on top, followed by the crispy beef strips.
Top each piece of chicken with a handful of shredded Colby-Jack cheese.
Bake to Perfection:
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature of 165°F).
Once done, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
