  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Spread the sliced strawberries evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the sugar over the strawberries.
  • Dot the cream cheese cubes over the sugared strawberries.
  • Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over the cream cheese and strawberries.
  • Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix.
  • Bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling around the edges.
  • Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!

Notes

For a citrusy twist, add a teaspoon of lemon zest to the strawberries. This cake is best served warm, but it also tastes great chilled!
